Welcome to Steele Heights Junior High School!
Welcome to Steele Heights Junior High School!
As a professional learning community our focus is on continuously improving student learning. To accomplish this staff work collaboratively to ensure that the essential learning outcomes are addressed and that we judge our success on results rather than good intentions. We monitor student learning on a regular basis and provide extra time and support to those student who need it and opportunities for enrichment for those students who clearly already understand the essential learning outcomes.
21st Century Literacy is the instructional focus for our district and as such our instructional staff effectively integrates technology and modern instructional practices into classroom instruction and encourages our students to use the technology available to them to enhance their learning.
Exemplary citizenship is a valued trait of Steele Heights' students. High expectations for behavior and conduct have been established at Steele Heights and students are held accountable for their conduct and behavior. We emphasize and celebrate good character. Our vision for Steele Heights is "Building a Positive Community Together."
Steele Height's three A's to success; Academics, Arts and Athletics provides students with a well-rounded education. At Steele Heights we offer our students a variety of extracurricular activities, athletics, clubs and a strong intramural program - something for everyone. Students are encouraged to participate and contribute positively to the overall climate of the school. By participating on teams, in clubs, and other student activities, students may find new interests, develop their skills and celebrate their talents.
Junior high school is both a challenging and rewarding time in your child's education. The Steele Heights staff is dedicated to providing a positive learning environment where your child can attain personal success.
