Parent Groups
SCHOOL COUNCIL
Parents continue to be an important part of the Steele Heights triangle. The involvement of parents ensures the success of our band program, our sports teams, our budding writers, and young scientists at Steele Heights. The School Council provides advice and assistance in regard to all school issues. All parents are invited to be a part of the team.
For those parents involved or planning to be active participants at Steele Heights this year, I thought it worth repeating what most of us have already learned. It is a proven fact that the level of involvement we as parents have in our schools has a great impact on our student’s education.
At Steele Heights, every parent or guardian automatically is a member of the School Council. Parents are encouraged to become part of our regular monthly meetings as they involve a valuable exchange of ideas on a number of school specific and general educational matters. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
So get involved, stay involved, and help ensure their success
Our students are the best, and from us, they deserve the most!

PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Parents are encouraged to become actively involved as volunteers. It is sometimes viewed that volunteers are not as necessary or needed in junior high. Not so!
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
At Steele Heights School, we feel very strongly that parents’ involvement in the school and with their children’s education improves student achievement. We maintain frequent and close contact with parents through teacher phone calls home, parent-teacher-student conferences, and regular newsletters.
Parents are encouraged to make telephone contact with teachers.
